The Embassy of the North Sea is collaborating with Casco Art Institute and other partners on the multidisciplinary research project by the University of Utrecht, called Whose Ocean?
When governing bodies such as the UN talk about ‘our oceans’, it is completely unclear who they are referring to with ‘our’. That’s why the ‘Whose Ocean?‘ project aims to organise an Assembly in which we explore how oceans can be meaningfully and effectively represented in national and international in legal or diplomatic forums. This research programme will build on the knowledge and insights gained during our Moot Court at the Peace Palace in The Hague in 2022. The research will start in March 2024, the Assembly is planned in January 2025 in The Hague.
