Design as alien — kids workshop

unfortunately This event is fully booked

What do non-humans, animals, plants, and microbes experience in our human-designed world? What does the world look like from a different eye? Designer Yi-Fei Chen devised a workshop that tilts our human perspective. This afternoon at OBA, we are going to apply design guidance to facilitate participants to think outside and in other boxes, as non-human ‘aliens’.

The level is mild and especially for kids (8 – 12) and families. There will be an intro about eel, a drawing section and a game. In short: it will be a fun, unique and educative way to learn about designing for other life forms.

De paling is ook een Amsterdammer

The Embassy of the North Sea listens to the voices of the North Sea. In Amsterdam we listen to the eel by researching the question how non-human stakes can be represented in public space.

In the Oosterdok we are working on an eel park, a place where humans and the underwater world can meet. From 1 to 31 October 2022, the OBA Oosterdok will host a programme about the dialogue with the underworld with videos, workshops, art and film.
