Maarten Kleinhans

professor in biogeomorphology of rivers and estuaries

Maarten Kleinhans is Professor in Biogeomorphology of rivers and estuaries at the Faculty of Geosciences at the University of Utrecht. As part of the research team Future of the Delta, Maarten will describe the developments of the landscape of Zeeland around the Oosterschelde over the past 8000 years based on scientific knowledge, and speculate about the future. He also plans to use a metronome, a research instrument that can create different landscapes through tidal currents in order to simulate perspectives of the area with and without Oosterscheldekering.
